FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO YOU MAKE SCREENCAPS?
I personally prefer The KMPlayer but other popular programs people use include VLC, VirtualDub, PowerDVD, etc. have a look at tutorials to find the one that suits you best.

WHERE DO YOU DOWNLOAD YOUR VIDEOS/HD/LOGOFREE VERSIONS?
I use torrents to download the 720p HDTV encode but when the logofree version is available (normally takes 6-24 hours depending on popularity) I also download that. For direct links try forums/sites like HD-BB Forums, tehparadox, OneLinkDL or even better, Google. HD trailers come from sites which provide them like iTunes/Apple and Yahoo!

WHAT DO THE DIFFERENT SOURCE TAGS MEAN "HD", "720p", "1080p/i", "WEB-DL", ETC?
High definition normally comes in two encodes:
720p - HD encode normally a screen resolution of 1280x720
1080p/i - HD encode normally a screen resolution of 1920x1080
And then I also tag by "source":
Logofree/WEB-DL - WEB-DL is the description for web rips from iTunes. They are slightly higher in quality and more importantly, are logo free.
HDTV - HDTV is used to tag those shows which don't have a logofree release. Mainly shows from HBO (which don't play the logo during anyway), Showtime and Starz.
Blu-Ray - Caps from blu-ray DVD or rips.

WHEN ARE CAPS OF [NAME OF SHOW] BEING UPDATED?
If it's a currently airing show, I try to upload caps within three days after the air date. 1080p/i HD releases will normally take longer than 720p HD releases. If you're a gallery user, you can check there as I always upload to the gallery before uploading zips/rar and making posts.

WHY IS THE GALLERY STRIKED OUT FOR FILMS?
I've decided not to upload caps to the gallery because an average 2 hour-ish movie can come away with 7000-ish (unsorted) caps. This makes uploading them to the gallery a pain so I've skipped that step.

CAN I REQUEST?
Feel free but I can't promise anything. If it's something that I'm already capping I will most likely be able to complete it. Check out this list for other cappers.

WHAT ARE .ZIP/.RAR FILES?
With .zip files you won't need any specific software, right click and extract, is all you need. With .rar files you'll need a piece of software called WinRAR - you can use the free trial version. An alternative is 7zip, and for MAC users I think the equivalent is UnRarX.

THE LINKS ARE NOT WORKING/HAVE EXPIRED.
If Megaupload gives you a message "Temp Unavailable" please try again in a few hours as the servers are probably busy or something. For all other expired links just drop a message in the ask box.

If you find it helpful you can check the REPLIES TAG, and if you've asked a question you can search for your reply as I've tagged all answers with usernames [http://capthatscene.tumblr.com/tagged/REPLACE-WITH-YOUR-USERNAME].

Here you will find screencaps of various tv shows, movies or trailers; mainly capped from a HD 720p/DVD source. Credit would be nice, but not necessary, just don't reupload and claim as your own. Please do not use the edited screencap previews to make picspams or graphics of your own. Also note, the majority of caps posted here are unsorted - meaning I have not gone through and deleted blurry or duplicate caps. Feel free to ask me questions and make requests.

I am currently trying to reorganize and reupload files so you may come across a number of broken links. My main focus is to replace all the links of those in the Masterlist. I will also be adding updates to the gallery for this fall season.
